Attention EHS Parents, We had a great first day with your students. With our lack of spring scheduling, we had a few "first day" scheduling issues that we worked through. We have addressed most issues and should have the rest resolved by Monday afternoon. If you have issues that are still needing to be addressed after Monday, please contact me at abramlett@eastland.esc14.net. Thanks for your patience as we get back to face to face instruction.

The scrimmage with Early for tonight has been canceled On Friday August 21st, we will be scrimmaging Benbrook High School, 201 Overcrest Drive, Benbrook, Texas 76126 JV scrimmage time will be 6 pm Varsity Scrimmage time will be 7:30 PM Spectators are limited to player families only. The players will be limited to 2 tickets for their families. The players will notify Coach Pena the 2 names they want on their list. There will be a checklist at the ticket window with a Benbrook administrator. After the JV scrimmage is completed all JV parents will be asked to leave and the stadium. The stadium will be sanitized and then the Varsity parents will be allowed to enter the stadium. Go Mavs - James Morton

Regarding Stadium capacity at Maverick Stadium: As many of you know, one of the covid 19 safety precautions is limited spectator capacity at all UIL events. During regular competitions limited tickets will be purchased, in advance, in an effort to assist us in meeting the capacity expectations. However, we do have several scrimmages scheduled, in all areas of competition, in which the same restrictions are in place but we will not be selling tickets. We ask if your child is not competing please allow for family member(s) of the student athletes to have priority attendance. At our home scrimmages administrators will be monitoring capacity. We are limited to every other row and 6 feet between family groups. Please comply with the request made by the staff in an effort to meet the guidelines. UIL has made it clear, failure to comply with the guidelines could result in cancellation of home games or cancelation of a season. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. EHS ONLINE Students and Parents Just a reminder that the first day of ONLINE instruction is 8-24. Once the schedules are finalized, your students will receive an email from their teachers with invitations and directions to their classes on google. Your students are NOT expected to check in this week for our staggered start. You should expect that email late this week. Thanks for your patience

Class Schedules Class schedules are available to view on Parent Portal at this time. Several changes are yet to be made. Freshman schedules are complete and we can deal with any issues tomorrow when they arrive. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are still a work in progress. Sophomore schedules should be complete by tomorrow (8/19) and Junior and Senior schedules should be complete by Thursday (8/20). Thanks for your patience in this process.

Students and Parents, Students taking courses in the A plus learning systems to make up credits will need to have these courses completed by Thursday, August 20, 2020. If the course is not completed by this date, the student will be placed in a class to make up any missing credits. If the unfinished course is a STAAR tested class (Algebra 1, English 1, English 2, Biology, or US History) then the student will be required to take the EOC exam for that classes. STAAR Tested Courses completed by August 20, 2020 will be waived (not required) and not taken as part of the COVID pandemic.

Dual Credit Students and Parents; The registration forms for dual credit is due by August 19, 2020. If a student has not completed and returned the paperwork to Eastland High School by the due date, they WILL NOT be registered for dual credit classes with Ranger or Cisco, and their schedule will be changed to high school equivalent classes. A copy of the Eastland High School Dual Credit Handbook and Registration Packet was emailed to every student 10 to 12 grade. If for some reason you did not receive this information, it can be downloaded from the Counselor’s Corner for the EHS website. TSI testing maybe required for some students, this test can be scheduled by appointment with the EHS office.

Attention EHS parents that have chosen the AT HOME LEARNING for this year. If you have not been in contact with the school to schedule your online orientation for the at home learning please contact the school at 254-631-5000 or email abramlett@eastland.ecs14.net and let us know when you can attend. The options for the high school are: Monday August 10th @ noon, Tuesday August 11th @ 9:30am, or Wednesday August 12th @ 5:30pm. Attention Dual Credit students. The dual credit handbook and registration packets were sent to your school email and are available for download from the counselor's corner on the school webpage. We also have hard copies available in the high school office. If you are in dual credit, you need to act fast, classes are starting soon.

The first day of school has been moved to the following dates: Freshmen August 19th Sophomores August 20th Juniors and Seniors August 21st All students will begin full time on August 24th Stay safe and we will see you soon.

For Tuesday July 14th ONLY morning workouts have been moved to 5:30 pm. This is to inform parents that we have had a report of a student being tested for COVID19. The results are still pending. The athlete has not participated in summer workouts since Monday, July 6th. Due to the time period since the athlete has come in contact with anybody in the summer conditioning program and after consulting with medical professionals EISD does not feel the need to cancel summer workouts. If you feel the need to or you desire your athlete to stay home pending the results of the COVID 19 test we completely understand. Reminder to all 2020-2021 EHS students...... An email was sent to each of you regarding the process for selecting your classes for this coming year. It has been open for a couple of weeks and we have many students in their classes. If you do not choose your classes by July 13th, we will have to choose them for you. That will eliminate all honors and dual credit classes for the fall semester. Please log on and take care of this ASAP. If you did select an honors class, please stop by the office and pick up your summer reading for those classes. Thank you for your help in this. Stay well. Mr. Bramlett

A Few Reminders: Registration is still open to all returning students for the 2020-2021 school year. Please take the time to get your student registered. Chromebooks need to be returned ASAP. If your student failed a class for the year, we will be in contact about making up the credit this summer (online) or next fall (in person) If you have registered online and returned your chromebook, we will begin registering your students for their 2020-2021 classes beginning June 15th. We will send out emails and instructions for you to pick classes so check your emails (student's email) starting on Monday the 15th. We will start with incoming seniors and work our way to incoming freshman. If your student has not received an email by June 18th, please call the office and we will get them set up. 2020 Football Schedule - Varsity, Jr Varsity & Jr High

It is now officially summer 2020. If you have a Chromebook that was loaned to you for our blended learning, now is the time to bring those back to the high school. You can bring those back this week from 9 am-noon and 1-3 pm. Have a great summer.

SENIOR GRADUATION INFORMATION FOR FRIDAY MAY 29TH Seniors need to arrive at 6 pm in cap and gown (don’t forget tassel) at Maverick Stadium Seniors* and family will all park on the home side (*this is a change from the 1st information sheet that was emailed to seniors several weeks ago) Seniors will enter the south gate (where the band and football players enter) and check in at the table with Mrs.Hatton Have your family members arrive together if possible- Due to COVID regulations, they will have to be seated together as a group, and will not be admitted until the entire group is present. Guest admittance begins at 6:30. Guests will not be admitted on the field. Don’t forget picture order envelopes- they need to be filled out with name, mailing address, and payment. Mrs.Hatton will have extra envelopes. The field will be sprayed for mosquitos, but it might be a good idea to bring some mosquito repellent or apply it before you come up there. Ladies don’t forget flat shoes for walking on the grass. If you have cords from band, ag, phi theta kappa, etc. we encourage you to wear them. Mrs. Hatton will distribute cords and stoles for honors, distinguished, beta club, and top 10% upon check in.

Attention 2020 seniors and Parents Don't forget about the free drive by brunch tomorrow (Thursday May 28) at 10 am at FUMC. Plans are to set up under the trees on Olive Street. Parents, please encourage your senior to take part. A big THANK YOU to Pastor Darrel and all the ladies (and gentlemen) that make this such a special event every year for our seniors.

High School Registration Clarification High School Registration is now open. We are asking that all registration be completed by MAY 29TH. We are not scheduling classes at this time and will complete this task during the month of June. Thanks for your help in this matter
