This is a C.A.S.T. for Kids event designed to provide children with special needs, ages 5-17, the opportunity to enjoy a quality outdoor recreational experience through the sport of fishing. Not all locations are conducive to hosting boating events. This event gives participants the opportunity to fish from shore. The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation (C.A.S.T. = Catch A Special Thrill) is a public charity that was formed in 1991 to join volunteers who love to fish with children who have special needs and disadvantages for a day of fishing in the outdoors. The Foundation became an official 501(c)3 in 1994 and currently hosts three programs: C.A.S.T. for Kids, Fishing Kids, and Take a Warrior Fishing. C.A.S.T. for Kids Program: Children with special needs (ages 6-18) and their caretakers come together with community volunteers for a fun day of fishing they may not otherwise experience. These events provide a refreshing break from their daily challenges. Spreading a positive message that kids with disabilities can accomplish anything, we include all children, despite their limitations. This is all made possible through national and local sponsors-people who want to make a big difference in the lives of kids with special needs thus strengthening their community. For those of you interested in the event please follow the link below for more information. https://castforkids.org/event/lakeleon/

Parents, Guardians, and Community Members, It has come to our attention that an outside entity is soliciting "sponsorships" from local businesses for our school programs such as athletics. Please know that if the request does not come from a EISD student, local booster club, or group sponsor/coach it is more than likely a scam and none of the funds go to help EISD students and programs. We appreciate all the support that our students receive from the EISD community to help improve their overall educational experience. If you have any questions about a solicitation that you think might not be legit please feel free to contact the campus offices or central administration. Thank you, Jeremy Williams -Assistant Superintendent
