Dear Parents and Guardians,
It has come to the attention of the administration of Eastland ISD that a message is circulating regarding a possible planned walkout involving middle school and high school students on Tuesday. Please note that this activity is not supported by or condoned by Eastland ISD administration.
We would like to remind families of important expectations outlined in the Eastland ISD Student Code of Conduct (2025–2026). The Code of Conduct prohibits students from leaving school grounds or school-sponsored events without permission and requires students to comply with directives given by school personnel. The Code also prohibits actions or demonstrations that substantially disrupt or materially interfere with school activities.
Participation in a walkout during the school day, as well as refusal to return to class when directed by school staff, constitutes a violation of the Student Code of Conduct and will be subject to disciplinary consequences in accordance with district procedures.
In addition, for the safety and security of students and staff, individuals without a legitimate educational reason to be on campus or any Eastland ISD property will be denied access and/or directed to leave.
While we respect students’ rights to express their opinions, this must be done in a manner that does not disrupt instruction, interfere with school operations, or compromise student safety. We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations with your child and helping us maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful learning environment.
If you have questions regarding this matter or the Student Code of Conduct, please contact your campus administration.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Williams
Superintendent
Eastland ISD

After closely monitoring attendance throughout the day and noting a significant increase in student and staff absences due to illness, Eastland ISD will be closed tomorrow. We originally planned to dismiss at 12:00 due to forecasted inclement weather; however, it has become apparent that declining attendance numbers necessitate a full closure.
We will use the day tomorrow to deep clean as many areas of our school buildings as possible in an effort to help protect the health and safety of our students, staff, and families and to limit the further spread of illness.
We will continue to monitor weather conditions over the weekend to make a timely, informed decision regarding classes on Monday.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Please take care, and we wish everyone a speedy recovery.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Williams
Superintendent
Eastland Independent School District
Due to the possibility of inclement weather, Eastland ISD will have an early dismissal on Friday (1-23-26) as a precaution to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Although the weather is not expected to arrive until later in the evening, some forecasts indicate an earlier arrival of inclement weather; therefore, we are dismissing students early out of an abundance of caution.
School will dismiss at 12:00 p.m., and buses will run at 12:15 p.m. Please make arrangements for your child to be released at 12:00 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to eat lunch prior to dismissal and bus departure.
We will continue to monitor weather and road conditions and will communicate any decisions regarding Monday as early as possible to allow families to make necessary arrangements.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Williams
Superintendent
Eastland Independent School District
