Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope you are doing well. The end of the year is upon us! A few things before we wrap up the year.
Next Tuesday, May 16 is our Middle School Bands and High School Jazz Concert at 6pm in the EHS Auditorium. Concerts are a time for all students to showcase what they have been working on over the last year. Much like the Christmas Concert, this Spring Concert will be mandatory. Please wear your band shirt and jeans with no holes.
Concert begins at 6pm
6pm - 6th Grade Band, call time is 5:30pm on Auditorium Stage.
6:30pm- Middle School Symphonic Band, call time 6pm in Band Hall
7pm - Middle School Honor Band, call time 6:30pm in Band Hall
7:30pm - HS Jazz Band, call time 7pm in Band Hall.
We understand there are spring practices that are select or youth leagues. While these are great for our students, school related concerts are for grades and are a part of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills that all subjects must teach. Your child is more than welcome to come dressed in their baseball, soccer, dance or whatever else practice they may have after the concert. Band is special in that as a team we work together to produce music. Without one person, the concert is not the same and the team as a whole suffers.
We understand that certain things are unavoidable. Please communicate with us in advance and we will work with you to make sure that the grade is made up.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do to assist you in the last few weeks of school. We have enjoyed this school year and are looking forward to next year.
I want to thank Mrs. Skinner and Mr. Everts for their support and dedication to the program this year. I want to wish them well on their next adventures. Next year, we will have Mrs. Larios-Garcia as our Middle School Director and Mr. White as our Percussion Director. We look forward to finishing this year together and a strong 23-24 school year.
