Eastland ISD has a great team of Principals and Assistant Principals for each campus! Take a moment to read about our Campus Administrators!

Joshua SmithJoshua Smith is the new Principal at Siebert Elementary School! He is a graduate of Coleman High School, Tarleton State University, and Lamar University. He has twenty years of experience in education. He was drawn to working in education by inspiring educators. "I wanted to be the inspiration that teachers, coaches, support staff, and administration were to me," he noted.

He stated that his strategy for inspiring students was to be a positive role model. "I love getting to know students, and try to greet each student in a positive way and build a relationship early on." For staff, he states that he is a collaborative leader who emphasizes positive mindsets and actions.

Dr. Smith says that he is looking forward to being part of a great campus with a great group of staff and excellent students. His advice to students was to seek out opportunities. "Enjoy each opportunity you have in school and learn from those opportunities. They will help you in the future."


Mike LandersMike Landers is the new Assistant Principal at Siebert Elementary! He is a graduate of L. D. Bell High School, the University of North Texas, and the University of Texas in Arlington. He has twenty-three years of experience in education. He was drawn to working in education by a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of families. "I have a passion for learning and helping others grow," he stated.

He believes in servant leadership and in building strong relationships with staff, students, and families. "I believe building strong, supportive relationships gives us the opportunity to inspire students - I take the time to know each student's name and interests (both at school and in the community). For staff, I am here to support and lead, with the understanding that everyone has a voice, that we are all on the same team, and that the contributions of each educator are exceptionally valuable."

Mr. Landers says that he is excited to meet and work closely with students, teachers, and families while learning new things in the process. His advice for students was to be positive. "Start strong with a positive attitude, stay organized, build relationships, and set goals! The new school year is a fresh start for everyone, and it's a great opportunity to grow and start new things!"


Damon RodgersDamon Rodgers is the new Principal of Eastland Middle School! He is a graduate of Corsicana High School and Texas Tech University. He has over twenty-five years of education experience. Mr. Rodgers was inspired by teachers and coaches in his life to become an educator. He believes in servant leadership, and is looking forward to building relationships with teachers, staff, students, and parents.

Mr. Rodgers states that self-confidence and a sense of self-worth is critical in the development of students. "The first lesson to teach children is that they matter. It is key to consistently convey to students that they have a unique and valuable contribution to make at the school, in the community, and eventually, in the world."

Mr. Rodgers notes that extracurricular activities are a great way to build up confidence and helps students find their talents. "I encourage every student to be involved. Participate in at least one of the many extracurricular activities we have available at Eastland ISD."


Jennifer GustinJennifer Gustin is returning to Eastland Middle School as Assistant Principal! She is a graduate of Eastland High School and Lubbock Christian University. She has twelve years of education experience. Mrs. Gustin believes in leading by example, "I strive to demonstrate the values, work ethic, and curiosity I hope to see in my students. By modeling these behaviors consistently, I aim to encourage them to challenge themselves, dig deep, and recognize their own potential for growth."

Mrs. Gustin states that she has always had a love for learning. "Working in education allows me to share that passion with others. One of my greatest joys is witnessing those 'light bulb' moments when a concept clicks for a student - the instant when effort and understanding meet. Being part of that process is incredibly rewarding and continues to inspire me every day."

Mrs. Gustin's advice to students is to spend time doing things for others. "When you focus on helping, supporting, and uplifting those around you, you not only make a positive impact on their lives - you also grow as a person. A mindset of service and empathy will take you far in life, both personally and professionally."


Brandon ChesserBrandon Chesser will be the new Principal for Eastland High School! His is a graduate of Andrews High School and the University of Texas Permian Basin. He has nineteen years of teaching experience. Mr. Chesser feels that he was called to a career in education. "Early on in life, I felt a strong pull towards helping others grow, overcome challenges, and discover their own potential," he explained. "Teaching is one of the few professions where you can influence not just what people know, but who they become. I feel very blessed to have this opportunity."

Mr. Chesser believes in servant leadership, and seeks to provide all the tools, information, and assistance that students and staff need to reach their goals. "It's important to first start with building strong relationships, setting high expectations, and providing support. That sets a great framework to work from, and progress and effort should be recognized and celebrated. Through communication and persistence, great things can be achieved."

Mr. Chesser's advice for students is to continue to stay strong through challenges, and to never quit trying to improve. "Excellence is not a goal - it is our journey."


Sandra CarterSandra Carter will be the new Assistant Principal for Eastland High School. She is a graduate from Littlefield High School, McMurry University, and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She has forty-four years of experience in education. Ms. Carter was inspired by her mother to pursue a career in education. "My mother was a teacher, so I grew up in a home where education was important. By 7th Grade, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher, and I have enjoyed my time as an educator very much!"

Ms. Carter states that she enjoys assisting students and staff on tasks, and hopes to inspire them to put their all into their work. "I like to work collaboratively with all staff members and students, and encourage them to do their best." She states that her goal is to make sure students receive a quality and useful education. "I would like for the students of Eastland High School to value the education they receive and use their education to become successful adults."
