Dear Parents, Guardians, and EISD Staff Members, In keeping with Eastland ISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all families and staff members that a student who was lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 was present on the campus of Eastland Middle School on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her. The District is working with local health officials and we have begun a case investigation. Campus administrators will contact any individuals determined to be in close contact with the infected individual. All students and staff that came into close contact will be directly notified as soon as possible. We will keep you apprised of further updates that may be necessary. While we do not have reason to believe that those who were not in close contact with the infected individual have reason to be concerned, we ask that you, as always, watch for symptoms of COVID-19. Any of the following symptoms indicate a possible COVID-19 infection: • Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit • Loss of taste or smell • Cough • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath • Fatigue • Headache • Chills • Sore throat • Congestion or runny nose • Shaking or exaggerated shivering • Significant muscle pain or ache • Diarrhea, nausea or vomiting If you or any member of the EISD community does begin experiencing any of these symptoms in a way that is not typical, we encourage you to contact your physician. Please see the attached document announcing that this school year (2021-2022), healthy meals will be offered every school day to all students at no cost at Eastland ISD. Please note that although there will not be Free and Reduced Lunch forms the District has to collect socioeconomic information that relates to school funding and accountability.

The first meeting for the 2021-2022 Bass Fishing Club will be held Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at Outdoor Specialties. If you wish to be a part of the team this year you need to be there as we are ordering jerseys once we know who will be fishing with us. You can also stop by Outdoor Specialties Monday or Tuesday at any time and let Terry Rose know your shirt size and pay your dues. Again meeting will be at OUTDOOR SPECIALTIES @5:00 on Tuesday 8/17

Schedule Pick Up First off I would like to say a big Thank You to Mr. Odom for all his work in getting our schedules done and ready to be picked up. Freshman- You may stop by the high School on Monday (August 16) from 4-6 p.m. to pick up your schedule and walk the halls. Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors- Stop by the office on Tuesday (August 17) between 1 and 4 to pick up your schedule. Enjoy your last few days of Summer.

[cap/ gown and tux or drape provided (for drape bring cami to wear under) + shot with regular clothing you wear] Info. sent to seniors' school emails. $20 sitting fee.
