EHS: Students of the Month

At the school board meeting on October 19th, Avery Ainsworth and Gilberto Aguilar were presented as Students of the Month for Eastland High School!

Avery has been extremely active throughout her time at Eastland High School. She has been a member of the Varsity Volleyball team for three years, serving as team captain her senior year and earning Honorable Mention All-District honors. She has also competed in Varsity Track last year, with hopes of getting her back out there again this spring. She enjoyed being on the Varsity Golf team last year and plans to continue this year. Outside of athletics, Avery has been a member of the Beta Club for four years.

After graduation, Avery plans to attend either the University of North Texas or Tarleton State University, where she plans to major in Kinesiology.

When asked who her favorite teacher is, Avery chose Mrs. Alicia Flores, her Dual Credit teacher. Quote from Mrs. Flores about Avery: “I am honored to have Avery Ainsworth in my class. She demonstrates kindness and respect toward herself and others, while working on her goals for today and her future self. Avery carries a rare blend of humility and good pride. She will continue to make a positive impact wherever she goes!”

Avery has represented Eastland High School extremely well through her involvement, accomplishments, and leadership, and we are proud to recognize her as student of the month.

Gilberto has been active in baseball for three years, including last year at the varsity level, and is also an active member of the EHS Varsity Band for all four years, serving as Drum Captain his Senior year.

After graduation, Gilberto plans to enter the workforce and pursue a career as an electrician.

When asked who his favorite teacher is, Gilberto chose Mrs. Donna Trammel, his Physics and Anatomy teacher. Quote from Mrs. Trammel about Gilberto: “So glad Gilberto is in my Physics class. He has sharp problem-solving skills and an enthusiasm for the class that is infectious. He is also a great drummer and fun to watch perform on the field.”

Gilberto has represented Eastland High School extremely well through his character, involvement, and the positive influence he has on others, and we are proud to recognize him as student of the month.

Congratulations to both of these outstanding students on their well-earned award!
