Eastland ISD is proud to recognize Laurah Williams, Eastland High School CTE Director and agricultural science teacher, for a special honor she received during Texas Tech University’s Agriculture Game on Saturday, September 26.
Mrs. Williams was one of only three agricultural science teachers invited by Texas Tech’s Gordon W. Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources to be recognized on the field at Galaxy Stadium. The recognition was part of Texas Tech’s annual Agriculture Game and the culmination of Davis College Ag Week, celebrating individuals whose work strengthens agricultural education and prepares the next generation of agricultural leaders.
To put this honor in perspective, Texas has more than 2,600 agricultural science teachers serving over 287,000 students. Being one of only three agricultural educators recognized during the game is an extraordinary distinction that reflects Mrs. Williams’ years of service, leadership and impact on agricultural education.
Mrs. Williams has devoted her career to agricultural education and the FFA. Through years of classroom instruction, leadership development, judging competitions, livestock shows and countless hours spent supporting students and their projects, she has created opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.
Her career accomplishments include training more than 125 teams that advanced to state competition, mentoring numerous state championship teams, six national championship teams and six Texas FFA state officers. She has also received Tarleton State University’s Alumni Achievement Award and the Honorary American FFA Degree—one of the highest honors presented by the National FFA Organization.
This recognition is a tremendous honor for Mrs. Williams, Eastland High School and the entire Eastland community. We are grateful for the lasting difference she continues to make in the lives of students and proud to see her dedication recognized by Texas Tech and Davis College.
Congratulations, Mrs. Williams! You make Eastland proud!
