EHS: October Students of the Month!

At the School Board meeting on November 17th, Jessica King and Kevin Beasley were named as Students of the Month for October!

Jessica is an active participant in EHS's Art program for 3 years, and has been a member of the Beta Club all three years she has been at Eastland. When EISD hosted TASA's Small School Network event and toured EHS, Jessica represented EHS art students. Jessica's favorite teachers are Mr. Willhelm, her art teacher, and Mrs. Pennington, her dual credit monitor. She will graduate with an Associates of Art and Science in May, and has been accepted into Tarleton State University. She plans to start a career in Special Education with a focus on the Elementary level.

"Jessica is one of the most mature, hard-working students at Eastland ISD," Mr. Wilhelm noted. "As a student or an aide, she always brings her best."

Kevin has been a member of the Varsity Mavericks Football team and Basketball team for two years, the EHS Band for all four years, and the EHS Jazz band for three years. Kevin made 5th Chair in All-Region Jazz Band 1 on trumpet. His favorite teacher is Mr. Perry, his 8th grade Social Studies teacher. He plans to attend Texas Tech to pursue a degree in Energy Commerce.

"Kevin is a hardworking and dedicated member of the EHS Band," Dr. Knott, EHS Band Director, stated. "He continues to better himself and others with his time and dedication. Kevin is a strong leader and has been an outstanding member of the EHS Band."

Congratulations to both of these outstanding students!
