EHS: September Students of the Month!

At the School Board meeting on October 13th, Kiera Hendricks and Cameron Wilson were named as Students of the Month for September!

Kiera is an outstanding member of the Eastland Band. She has been in the high school band for four years, and is currently one of the Marching Band's Drum Majors. She has also been in the Jazz Band for four years, and made it to State in Solo and Ensemble. Kiera also has been competing in UIL Spelling for four years, and has been in the Beta Club all years of eligibility. Her favorite teachers are Mrs. Sanderson from 1st Grade and Dr. Knott, the High School Band Director. Dr. Knott says "Kiera is a natural-born leader. She is always willing to help and serve her peers as best she can. She is always the first to rehearsal and one of the last ones to leave to make sure everything is taken care of. We are grateful to have her serve in our band as a Drum Major." When Kiera graduates, she plans to attend Cosmetology school.

Cameron is an outstanding student athlete. He has been active in Varsity Football for two years and Varsity Basketball for three years. He is noted as being a hard worker and a solid student. His favorite teacher is Mr. Ochoa, his 8th Grade Math Teacher. Head Coach Landers says this about Cameron: "He is the hardest worker in the room. He's always the first one in the weight room and on the field, and he's the last one to leave. He does everything to the best of his ability, always asks 'where' and not 'why.' He does everything and anything he can to help the team out." When Cameron graduates, he plans to attend Weatherford College to become a pharmacist.

Congratulations to both of these outstanding students!
